As in medicine, the
chiropractic profession has specialists who serve their community's
patients, as well as provide expert evaluation and consultation
to other health care practitioners. Chiropractic neurologists
are chiropractors who have two years of post-doctoral training
in the field of functional (non-pharmaceutical) neurology. Chiropractic
neurologists and medical neurologists differ greatly in their
methods of treatment. The medical neurologist will prescribe
medications or other invasive treatment to help the patient.
A chiropractic neurologist uses drug free and non-surgical treatment
methods to help restore a more-normal function to the body. These
methods focus on improving brain and nervous system health, nerve
connections, nutritional deficiencies, and organ malfunctions,
which makes life easier on all involved.
The treatments are based off of the teachings of the Carrick
Institute of Neurology (www.carrickinstitute.org) and the American
Chiropractic Neurology Board (www.acnb.org) and have helped millions
of patients achieve a level of health never thought imaginable.
Our treatments are centered on stimulating the
six senses: Balance, Sight, Sound, Smell, Touch, and occasionally
Taste. In doing so it can help to "re-connect" the brain. Samples
of the treatment offered at our clinic are:
- Balance and postural retraining
- Vestibular
exercises and positioning maneuvers
- Eye movement and light therapy
- Motor planning,
timing and sequencing
- Fine motor skills
- Non-verbal stimulation and
response training
- Spatial awareness activities
- Coordinated breathing
- Taste and Sound protocols
- Lab work evaluation
and proper recommendation of critical tests that may have been
overseen
- Neurotransmitter evaluation
- Specific nutritional
or supplemental protocol
- Treatments are coordinated with referring
and attending physicians
The conditions in which patients have seen the
most improvement in their symptoms are:
- Vertigo and balance disorders
- Nerve related
problems (i.e. peripheral neuropathy, sciatica, carpal tunnel,
disc herniations, etc.)
- Parkinson's disease and movement disorders
- Fibromyalgia
- Multiple sclerosis
- ADD/ADHD
- We have had some mild to moderate
successes with Autism spectrum disorders
There are conditions in the brain and nervous
system that do not respond to medical intervention, these are
the patients that are usually referred in by their doctors or
loved ones to our office. Our office does not offer a cure for
diseases. However, we do everything in our knowledge and power
to improve the quality of life of all patients. If you keep on
doing what you've always done you will keep on getting the results
that you always have gotten. Take a small step outside the box
- you will be happy that you did!
